Which 2027 kites are out
Here's where the 2027 ranges stood on 26 September 2026, from each brand's own site:
- Duotone: the Rebel SLS 2027 (UK from £1,719, pre-sale) and the Neo 2027 are on sale, along with the Evo SLS Porsche edition and the 2027 Click and Trust bars. There's no standard Evo 2027, Juice 2027 or Mono 2027 page yet.
- Cabrinha: the 2027 Drifter is live; no 2027 Switchblade, Moto or Nitro yet.
- Slingshot, Airush, Flysurfer: no new versions of the Ghost, Lithium, Lift, Ultra or Flysurfer's kites yet. Slingshot's new Code V3 is a cheaper sibling of the Code NXT V2, not a replacement.
Rebel SLS 2026 vs 2027
The one kite with a published successor, side by side from Duotone's own pages. Duotone says the 2027 adds a stiffer structure and higher inflation pressure for a more direct feel and cleaner loops; the size range and wind chart are unchanged. Duotone's 2027 page doesn't state a strut count (the 2026 says five), hence the dash. For how it compares with other big-air kites, see best big-air kites.

- You need a size or colour the 2026 clearance doesn't have
Should you buy last year's kite?
Usually, yes, if the price gap is real. Kites often change only in details between model years (the Rebel SLS above is an example), and a clearance 2026 kite is built for the same riders as its 2027 successor. Before you buy, check three things:
- The model year on the listing. Some shops and sellers blur 2025, 2026 and 2027. Ask, or check the product code against the brand's site.
- The shop's own normal price, not just the RRP. We only list a deal when it's below what the shop itself usually charges.
- VAT and shipping from EU shops. Some EU shops show prices without VAT to UK visitors, and import VAT may be due on delivery, so a low headline price isn't always a real saving.
